When you sit down and look over a friend or loved one’s old high school, middle school, or elementary school yearbook you will find yourself being infinitely amused at how they used to look and what kinds of people they grew up around. A yearbook can be a great way to start to get to know someone or even to add to your views of their life thus far.

The day that the yearbook came out was always a great day at school. It became a day that many people looked forward to and helped wrap up the school year very nicely. When the yearbooks were released it marked the time that everyone would be allowed to go around and sign each others books.

As time has passed it becomes easier to forget the things that surrounded our growth into adulthood. Looking back on an old yearbook and reading the passages that people wrote to you can be extremely therapeutic in the sense of letting you know how far you have come in your life and where you came from. I always made sure to keep my yearbooks in excellent care over the years because I knew there would be a day when I wanted nothing more than to look through them and remember the good old days. I feel sorry for the people who have lost their yearbooks over time because I know they must wish they still had them now.

When I look back through my yearbook from my senior year of high school I am enthralled at the things people wrote to me, about the person that I wanted to be back them. I can see the similarities between my adult self and my younger self but I have no idea where I got those crazy dreams so long ago.

A yearbook is just one of those things that I will always cherish and be glad that I have them to remind me of the wonder years.

Every time I look through one of my old yearbooks I get the overwhelming urge to get back in touch with people I have not spoken to in years. I get the feeling that if I got together with those friends that I have that I remember from being young that I will become younger myself.

When you decide that you want to look through your old yearbook it would be extremely disappointing for you to realize that you no longer had it because you decided not to take it with you on that last move or you were sick of it taking up the space. A yearbook is one of those timeless things that will make you happy every time you turn to it for comfort.
